Social dining · Saigon

Connection begins with a seat at the table.

gặp /gʌp/ verb — to meet, to bump into, to finally sit next to someone more interesting than your phone.

Dinner with strangers. What could go right? We throw long tables and big nights for expats, travellers and locals. You bring the appetite. We'll handle the awkward first five minutes.

How it works

Three steps. Zero homework.

  1. 1

    Spill the beans

Fill in our quick form: who you are, what you eat and what should never come near your plate. Two minutes, tops.

  2. 2

    We do the seating chart

We mix every guest list like a good cocktail, then slide an invite into your inbox.

  3. 3

    Turn up hungry

Share the food, clink the glasses, meet the table. What happens after dessert is your business.

Recent tables

A table is just a table until people gather around it.

Two ways to gặp

Pick your vibe

Seated dinner

The Table

One long table, a family-style feast and a bunch of strangers who'll be passing you the bread within ten minutes. Like a family dinner, minus the questions about your love life.

Standing event

The Social

Bigger, louder, on your feet. DJs, live acts and activities that make "so, what do you do?" completely optional.

Welcome gift · gặp's Food Safari

Eat your way through Saigon

Join the list and we'll send you gặp's Food Safari, our hit list of where to eat in this city: bún bò that sells out most nights, plastic-stool cơm tấm at midnight, and exactly what to order at each. Stretchy pants recommended.

Gimme the guide
  • Bún bò HuếĐen Bún BòOpen 4–9pm and sells out. Arrive around 6:30 and order the sụn mềm.

Our story

We've never been more connected. And yet, somehow, we've never needed connection more.

More of our lives are moving online. More conversations happen through screens. Technology brings us closer in some ways, but it also gives us fewer reasons to actually meet.

No matter how advanced the world becomes, we still crave something technology can't replicate: presence. Sitting across from someone. Sharing a meal. Losing track of time in conversation. Feeling like you belong.

That's why gặp was born, at a table not so different from the family dinners we grew up around. To put down our phones. To pull up a chair. To meet.

"The future may be digital. But connection should still be human."

Tam and Huong in front of the glowing gặp sign on opening night

Huong · more than meets the eye

Life's better in HD.

Huong brings the creative ideas, the little details and occasionally the chaos to gặp. She has a knack for turning a simple dinner into something worth remembering, and strangers into people who feel like old friends. Thoughtful in her approach, unapologetically particular about certain things, and never one to take herself too seriously. She believes a good night should leave you with more than just a full stomach.

Tam · a man on a mission

Building something that can never be replaced.

Tam is all about the people, the conversations and the connections that happen in between. He has a way of making strangers feel like friends and believes the best things in life aren't things at all, but the people you share them with. Genuine in his approach, intentional in what he builds, and always ready with a dad joke nobody asked for. For him, gặp is about creating something that lasts long after the night ends.

Our only request? Bring a good attitude. Dress code optional. Good vibes mandatory.

18+ only. Not a restaurant booking: everyone shares a set menu, so tell us about allergies in the form, not halfway through the main.
